Reynolds was hired to perform an investment grade energy audit of the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home. The goal of the audit was to identify ways to address outstanding infrastructure improvements and deferred maintenance needs, as well as save energy.
During the IGA, Reynolds surveyed the original building which was constructed between 1959 and 1969. The original farmhouse was incorporated into the original skilled nursing building. In 1975, an addition was built. With exceptions of changes in the boiler room equipment, domestic water heating equipment, and lighting maintenance, most of the energy using systems have not changed since 1975.
Reynolds identified several high-impact energy efficiency measures that would provide significant energy and operational savings and would allow the facility to upgrade their aging and failing infrastructure.
