Reynolds will be providing construction management services for the new Peters Township High School. The existing 237,230-square-foot building has several educational programming deficiencies and requires significant maintenance as most of the building systems approach the end of their useful life. Faced with renovating and adding to the existing school or constructing a new facility, the district chose to proceed with the design of a new facility.
The three-level building will be constructed on the former Rolling Hills Country Club property in time for the 2020-2021 school year. The school will be zoned for academics, athletics, and administration, which will enhance security efforts by enabling officials to block off different zones of the school. By maintaining the topography of the land, the district will reduce the amount of grading needed and will optimize their budget. A new road will be built to provide access to the school.
The entrance on the upper level will lead to administrative offices, an auditorium, a 2,000-seat auditorium, and cafeteria. The school will exceed the size of the current high school by about 60,000 feet and include 10 additional classrooms.
