Project Background
Reynolds was hired to commission all of the building systems for renovations and additions to branches of the Carnegie Library.
Brookline Branch Library
Reynolds Consulting Engineers commissioned the renovations of this library. The project is certified by the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program.
Woods Run Branch Library
This project, part of the Library’s Capital Improvement Program, called for the removal of the building’s brick walls in favor of large windows that transform the library’s exterior and infuse the library with sunlight, making it more welcome.
Additional design features include designated teen and children’s areas, centralized customer service area, and the first drive-through brook drop in the Carnegie Library system. The project is LEED Silver certified.
Squirrel Hill Branch Library
Reynolds Consulting Engineers was hired to commission all of the buildings systems for the renovations and expansion of this library. The project included expanded collections, a new teen area, a business center, and a larger children’s area.
In addition, an elevator was added to the Forbes Avenue entrance, a glass enclosed entrance from the parking garage, drive-up book drop, and self-check areas for customers. The project is LEED Silver certified.
