Bristol Township School District DAO

Project Background

Reynolds was hired by the Bristol Township School District to provide a guaranteed energy project at Clara Barton Elementary School, which is being renovated to become the District Administration Office.

Interior work to be performed at the elementary school includes providing new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems, as well as new ceilings, walls, doors, finishes, and casework. Exterior skin work will include providing windows, façade, and doors as prescribed by SCHRADERGROUP Architects’ (SGA) design, as well as a roof coating over the existing roof.

Reynolds will conduct a thorough and systematic performance test of each element and total system of the installed equipment and will correct and/or adjust any deficiencies in the systems and equipment.

Initially, the scope of work designed by SGA was estimated to cost about $10.3 million. Reynolds suggested approximately $1.4 million in options to reduce the cost. The district asked Reynolds to meet a target of under $9.4 million while keeping some of Reynolds’ options. Together with SGA, Reynolds beat the $9.4 million revised budget goal and provided some additional options.
