Upper Merion Area School District Holds Ribbon Cutting for Two New Schools

(King of Prussia, PA) – Upper Merion Area School District’s board of directors and administrative team held ribbon cutting ceremonies on August 29 and 30, 2018, to celebrate the opening of two new elementary schools, Caley and Gulph. Reynolds provided preconstruction and construction management services for both, which were replacements of half-century-old schools that had become too small and outdated.

The schools, which house approximately 525 students each, help to alleviate space issues arising from growing district enrollment and enable the district to offer full-day kindergarten. The $25 million, 83,249-square-foot Caley and the $27 million, 95,538-square-foot Gulph share the same design, with the exception of an additional space at Gulph for specialized programs.

“The Upper Merion Area School District was very pleased to partner with Reynolds during the construction of our two new elementary schools,” said Dr. John Toleno, district superintendent. “The folks at Reynolds provided oversight during the pre-construction and construction phases of our projects and we are happy with the outcome.”
