Harrisburg, PA — Reynolds, a full-service building solutions provider based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is providing agency construction management services for the expansion of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) headquarters in downtown Harrisburg.
Designed by Murray Associates Architects, the new eight-story tower addition and tie-in to the renovation of a three-story historic building will add approximately 39,700 square feet to the agency’s headquarters. Natural lighting and a highly efficient heating and cooling system, as well as flexible seating and meeting options, will enhance staff comfort.
Designed to achieve LEED Platinum and Passive House certifications, the addition incorporates best practices to optimize resource consumption, such as a 36-panel photovoltaic system to derive energy from the sun, a living roof to decrease runoff, and electrochromic glass that tints on demand to reduce glare and light pollution. With the incorporation of a host of sustainable elements, the net-zero building will produce as much energy as it consumes.
“We’re excited to be a part of this cutting-edge building,” said David Angle, CEO of Reynolds. “As one of the first office buildings designed to achieve Passive House certification, its occupants will enjoy greater comfort and superb indoor air quality.”
Reynolds served as construction manager at-risk for the construction of the existing LEED® Gold certified headquarters in 2002.
