Meet Gary Marshall

Briefly describe what you do.

As an on-site construction manager, I represent the owner (school district) as the point person between the owner, architect/engineers, and contractors. I oversee quality of work, scheduling, risk management, coordination, conflict resolution, documentation, cost control, and student education.

What’s the best thing about your job?

Building relationships with those involved on projects and being a part of team efforts to overcome obstacles and provide a project that we can all have pride in.

What is your proudest moment at Reynolds?

Although I don’t have a specific moment in mind, I really enjoy leading a team and watching complex projects progress and come to successful completion.

What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?

I am a volunteer firefighter and captain of fire police for Union Township Station 40. We are involved with many community fundraisers and events. I also enjoy attending NASCAR and local dirt track stock car races.

What is the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Doing high tower work (600-foot free climb) and being an ironworker.

What are your biggest pet peeves?

Laziness and lack of self-discipline.

If you could witness any historical event, which one would you want to see?

There are so many, it is hard to pinpoint any one event. I would have liked to witnessed the late 1800’s during the American Old West Frontier .

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

Alaska and/or Australia
