Meet Dan Nadolny, PE, CEM, CMVP, LEED AP
Describe what you do for Reynolds Energy Services.
I’m the Performance Assurance Manager, which means that I manage projects in the performance stage, create measurement and verification (M&V) plans, and support project development to ensure that overall project performance is of the highest quality. In other words, from the beginning of the project development through performance, I am engaged in providing a quality product for our clients.
How does your behind-the-scenes job play a role in maintaining good customer relationships?
I discuss projects with clients through phone calls, emails, and on-site meetings to help ensure overall satisfaction post-construction. I also provide quarterly updates for their review.
How have Reynolds’ energy services evolved since you started working here?
Since I began here in 2010, we’ve grown substantially from a few projects totaling less than $300,000 a year in annual guarantees, to now over a dozen projects in performance and over $1 million in annual guarantees being tracked.
What is an accomplishment you’ve had at Reynolds that you’re most proud of and why?
The initial M&V department and performance tracking consisted of 1 or 2 reports and no standardized templates. Since 2012, I have taken it upon myself to further expand our M&V tools, reporting, and operating procedures. We now have a system that will serve as a solid base for our performance guarantee tracking and future growth of the company.
How do you encourage your family to save energy at home?
We turn off lights in rooms we are not occupying. Good luck keeping the house temperature below 72 in the winter though…
What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?
I used to be a DJ in college. I also won a second-place medal in an annual darts tournament when I was at Virginia Tech.
Who or what has been the biggest influencer on your career?
My dad. He emphasized hard work and honesty. Treat others like you’d like to be treated. It all works out.
What are some side projects or hobbies you have outside of the office?
I enjoy golfing when I can. I also like to coach my kids in baseball/softball and flag football.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
A secluded tropical island. Castaway style, but with an open bar and no people.
