Reynolds Energy Services was hired by the Juniata County School District to provide a guaranteed energy savings performance contract at East Juniata High School, Juniata High School and Tuscarora Junior High School.
In planning the project, the district tasked Reynolds with reviewing all major building systems and components, and upgrading or replacing them as cost-effectively as possible with the goal to provide another 20+ years of useful life for the facilities.
In doing so, Reynolds carefully evaluated the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in addition to the building envelope, and developed and implemented a project that met the district’s goals.
Schedule: Project completed on schedule
Budget: Project completed within budget
Savings: Performance period not begun
Prior to selecting Reynolds, the district had a feasibility study completed that identified a similar project scope for the three buildings at a cost of nearly $40 million. Through a very comprehensive survey of the buildings, Reynolds developed a project that met the needs at less than half of the original estimated cost. Additionally, through the use of a guaranteed energy savings contract, the project was able to contribute nearly $5 million in energy savings to the overall budget; thus, reducing the impact on the district’s tax payers even further.
