C.E. McCall Middle School

Project Background

The Montoursville Area School District Board hired to provide construction management and building commissioning services for the C.E. McCall Middle School additions and renovations project. The project consists of 6,800 square feet of new construction and 142,600 square feet of renovations.

Renovations to the current structure include the courtyard, gymnasium, and various classrooms. The site of the current library will be converted to a new science and laboratory area. The school’s new, zero-energy library is now under construction.

In addition to a 20 KW photo voltaic array, the 1968 building will be geo-thermally heated and cooled by 54,000 vertical lineal feet of closed loop wells. The project is Pennsylvania’s first school to seek certification under the Green Building Initiatives (GBI) Green Globes rating system.
